!This will be a full review of the album!
I was so hyped for this ep when I first heard it's in the works, and it did not disappoint, it's amazing, but let me tell you why I think this is a masterpiece (I'm going to talk about every song, one by one) :
1st song: campfire story
When I first heard about the project I was kinda afraid it will be driven by the melody, and will have not much of a hip-hopy feel to it, but after listening to the song, I was happy to hear that it had both elements perfectly balanced, other than that, its nothing much, it does what it has to do (so starts of the EP) 9/10 could have been longer
2nd song: Enter the forest
To be completely honest, I did not really enjoy this song, for me the lyrics kinda ruin it. They feel a bit out of place, kinda if they don't belong there (and I found this problem I some later songs too). But, the instruments are still amazing. Nothing more to say 7/10 the lyrics ruin it for me
3rd song: waterfall
This song kicks ass, all the instruments are amazing (especially the bass, I really appreciate the bass in this song), and the drums are powerful in their own way, it's just perfect. It gives me a sort of nostalgia too, which is a plus point I guess. This track is my favourite from this EP, if not my favourite song from you. 10/10 this song is a masterpiece
4th and final song: snowflake
A perfect album closer. Recently I've been obsessed with rock and roll, and I found that not every album has a good album closer, so I was kinda worried that this song isn't going to be "the grand finale" I was looking for. I really like that it's not a 2 or 1 minute album closer, cuz with it's 7 minutes it took the time to slowly end of the EP. But, this doesn't mean that it's perfect, and again, I don't really enjoy the vocals (or more so monologue) going on, it feels a bit out of place. To end this songs review with something positive, I want to mention I like how it took a turn from other songs from the album, and that it's not really lofi. 9.5/10 almost perfect.
So, all tho I don't like all the songs, I still think it's a awesome EP, and a amazing opening for the "catalogue of Pastayay albums". Keep up the good work, can't wait to see what else you will make in the future :)
